The Digestive System

Your homework this week is to make notes about the digestive system. Please do this on paper-do not write on the blog for this activity.
Make sure that you make notes, rather than write in full sentences. Please do not just copy out information.

For example using this information,

Information from the website:
Chewing - Chewing is the first stage of the digestive system. When you chew your food it breaks up big pieces into little pieces that are easier to digest and swallow. Also, your saliva is more than just water. It has special enzymes in it that start to break down starchy food (potatoes, bread) while you chew.

I can make these notes.
My notes:
Chewing: first stage, breaks up big pieces easier to digest. Saliva, special enzymes for starchy food.;

    Mouth:
    1. when food is chewed saliva starts digesting carbohidrates.
    Oesophagus:
    2. muscles in a process called peristalsis push the food down into your stomach.
    Stomach:
everything is blended with digestive juices. Hydrochloric acid kills bacteria.Enzymes brake down proteins.
    liver:
4.A green liquid called bile wich is stored in your liver is secreted to brake down fats.
    Pancreas:
    5. Many kinds of digestive enzymes are made in the liver.
    Small intestine:
food is mixed with bile from your liver and juices from your pancreas to be sent back to your liver for more processing.
    Large intestine:
    7. Indigestible food and water are processed stored and dispersed.

  3. Introduction

I found out that the human digestive system is really interesting. And has some amazing facts.

    Why is digestion important?

Digestion is really important for crushing food into nutreince, which the body uses for growing and lots of energy. Food and drinks are changed into smaller and smaller molecules of healthy nutreince before the blood carries away into cells throughout the body.

    How does digestion work?

Digestion works by moving food through the GI tract.
Digestion starts by our mouths then through the pharynx
And takes all the dairy, carbohydrates, protein and
Fats [good fats] to your rib. And all your food goes through
Your small intestines and the goes through your big
Intestine and after a few hours it will come out of your body.

2.Some thing pushes and squeeze your food down until the food goes into your stomach.
3.All the food is mixed with the juice and the Hydrochloric kills all the stuff in your tummy that is bad.Enzymes brakes all the things in your tummy as well.
4.A liquid brakes down stuff too.
5.Many things your digest are made from your livers.
6.The juice is made from your pancreas and the pancreas sends it to your livers.
