Year 4 Homework: Autumn Week 5

Maths (20mins):
Our topic this week is multiplication and division. Maths homework will be posted on the Mathletics website. Please ask your teacher for a paper copy if you need one or if you have trouble logging on.

Literacy (20mins):
You can either submit your homework on paper or post it on your class blog. Links to the blogs can be found in the class pages on the school website.
In ICT we will be designing our own educational games using a programme called Scratch. This week we want you to think about any games that you already play, for example on Mathletics.
Write about your favourite games:
- What are they?
- Why do you enjoy playing them?
- What do you learn from them?
- Do you have any ideas for your own educational game?
Spellings (20mins):
These should be practised for a short time each day, using the words given in sentences.
You need to:
• look at each word
• say the word
• copy the word in first space
• cover the words and try to write it from memory
• check to see if they are right
• then cover, write and check again
what i like about scratch is making games and doing backgrounds. For my one game i want to make two people or pets so they are finding things , i know how to yuss scratch and put things in it how to work.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite game on scratch is the park-our star wars GOBO game.It is just a random gobo dressed as luke taravelling across beating all evil plans of the sith and kylo ren. There are lots of stages in the game and few with a small boss like a Tusken Raider. Sadly there is no level with a main boss but still it is challenging.You move with the arrow keys and jump with space and thanks to the creater of the wonderful game.
ReplyDeleteMy second favorite game is a fifa game. You cant play it but you can still open packs and battle friends of who got the best players.There is even a choice of buying the exact player you want but that ends up as cheating.
I think both of these games will be fun for 8+ to ten years old.
My favourite game is Roblox and they are kind of blocks games like Minecraft but much better, I enjoy playing this game because there are different types of games that I could play together with my friends online and I learned from this games how to get together with my friends very often online and when I make a blocks games I have to add the blocks up to make my own game and this is like a math education

This is a listening clip’s on Mathletics. You have to click on a times tables and watch the video, whilst listening to and watching the video your brain takes in the information so when doing fun things you can learn.
Why Do I Like To Play Them?
I like to listen and watch these video’s because I can learn and know my times tables. The songs are fun and nice to listen to. Now I know my times tables when I have the times tables test on Friday.
What Do I Learn From This?
I learn my times tables, (new words from the song) and fun things like animals, space ships and countries.
MY IDEAS FOR MY EDUCATIONAL GAME
ReplyDeleteIt will be a game for 9 to 19 year olds. A person will ask your personal questions about you and you have to answer them the game knows the answer to the question, so if you lie it says LIAR YOUR PANTS ARE ON FIRE. Then you turn into fire! So answer all questions truthfully. (you are a made up person so do not answer questions about YOURSELF you answer them about a made up person!

One of my favourite games is chess. I like chess because it is a competitive game it also is very fun and makes me think a lot. Chess is a mental exercise and it tests your brain therefore it helps you in subjects such as literacy, science and maths.
ReplyDeleteOne of my other favourite games is Minecraft. I like Minecraft because it is fun and it is educational if you think about it. Minecraft is educational because you can make stuff and that helps with art and design. It is also is educational with geography it shows life and plants and it basically shows the life of a caveman.
One educational game I have made is on scratch it is a maths game it is basically a maths basketball game it gives you a timetable and you have to do it correct. If you get it right the basketball goes in the hoop. If you get it wrong it misses.

One of the educational games I like is Phonics Play because it contains a range of different games that help you in your spellings and grammar. I enjoy these games because you learn, they also have an interesting theme to give the game which makes me want to play them. My favourite game is sentence substitution because you get to change the sentence and make it something totally different. This is how it works, You have a range of words and a sentence. The sentence needs to be improved or you need to change it to something different and you can do this with 10 different sentences. These games are fun and the great thing about it is no matter what age you are you can play the games because they have levels and if you pass the First Phase then you can move on to Two etc. When you get to Phase Six it all ends.

My favourite game is peak a game for adults to test your brain because they want to see how clever you are. It teaches you things like maths and tests your remembering skills. In maths they do things like ordering numbers.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite games are scratch, because I can make your own game and Ican make a animation. I like life Mathletics because, Ican race your friend's by quickly typing the answer of the maths questions. I like to play a times tables test game which is, I have to answer the times tables question, if I don't get the answer right , or I am to late, I will fail the game. I also like to play a game which has, division, multiplication,add and subtract is the same of how to play the times tables game. If I made my own game, there would be a man playing on his phone in the street and then a stranger would come and snatch his phone,then you have to answer 10 maths questions correctly in 15 seconds to get the man's phone back.

I learn how to use different objects like making redstone which in real life is science!
If I had an educational game I would make it more fun by making my game a Battle-Game!!

2. I enjoy playing scratch I lot because it is really fun to play on and it has nice things to play on I love playing scratch.

My favorite educational game is mathletics. Mathletics is a very good educational game, it has a lot of stuff added in to it. It really helps me with maths it also has hundreds of challenging questions. I also like it that you can play live mathletics live mathletics

Live mathletics allows you to vs other people by solving questions in the certain time. The person with the most points wins. If you want to customizer your character you can do that by going to the top left of your screen and tap it and then you can chose what stuff you want to buy. To get credits you need to answer questions. There is a lot of costumes like a pumpkin costume and a scuba diver costume you can also get a varied amount of hair styles and backrounds. I do have other favourite games but these two are my favourite I really like terraria and mincraft I like both of these games because their both building games I really like them both. They both have a lot of blocks and ores in them there is gold, diamond, wood and stone there is also loads more.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite game is Minecraft because it is the only game that I play the most. Minecraft can let me build up to 120 blocks high. Everything you see is squared. The earth is squared and with a pickaxe you can dig to the botom of the earth! So far I have built three houses in my world. Minecraft has more than one hundred items I normally make my houses out of brick, wood and stone. I think that Minecraft is a very good game and most people play it. Normally when I talk with Matei,Emil and Riccardo they talk about games that they play online such as Roblox, Tarreria and other games on their x box.
